Peter Parker Is Officially Venom Again, as Spider-Man Embraces Corruption to Fight the VENOM WAR (2025)

While Eddie and Dylan Brock both gather their soldiers and prepare to go to war against one another, Spider-Man takes everyone by surprise by taking the Venom symbiote for himself once again.

Fans recently saw the Venom symbiote flee Dylan, scared that it had become a corrupting influence. To avoid creating another monster, Venom sought out Peter Parker, believing that he was the one person who would never be corrupted by its influence again. Readers last saw the symbiote disguising itself as Peter's black costume - now, in a preview of Venom War: Spider-Man #1 shared by AIPT, Marvel shows them bonded once again, as Peter battles the Hobgoblin.

The fate of the world will be decided by whoever is wearing the Venom symbiote. Eddie wants to prevent a dark future where Venom eventually consumes the entire world, and Dylan no longer believes his father can be trusted with the symbiote. This has led both of them into a massive conflict called the Venom War.

Spider-Man Is Back In The Iconic Black Suit

The Venom symbiote has been bonded to many hosts over the years, but the one that got away was always Peter Parker. Every other host has accepted the Venom symbiote with open arms. But only Peter managed to reject it, and that's something the Venom symbiote has never forgotten. Now, with the Venom symbiote at its lowest point, feeling it's nothing but a danger to those around it, it finally returns to Peter, and surprisingly, it seems that Peter is entirely fine with accepting it this time around.

Stated to be the "last temptation of Black Suit Spider-Man", readers will get glimpses into Peter's past with the suit and his possible dark future. Peter has always had a connection to the symbiote that goes far deeper than most people realize. While being the first to reject the Venom symbiote was certainly an important detail, an even more important one is the fact Peter was meant to be the King in Black instead of Eddie Brock. It's surely no coincidence that as Eddie and Dylan Brock fight over the Venom symbiote, Peter is the one who has it, and might just end up fulfilling his original destiny.

Spider-Man Is Returning To His Darkest Era

Spider-Man wasn't in a good place mentally or emotionally when he initially wore the black suit, and he very nearly lost himself to the Venom symbiote's influence. While he was able to resist the temptation of the symbiote once, he might not be able to do it again. As Eddie and Dylan battle each other over the fate of the Venom symbiote, it seems the symbiote has already decided who it wants to side with. The Venom War will change the symbiote side of marvel forever, and it might just be a darker Spider-Man who comes out of this war the victor.
