CUMBERLAND — A city man was arrested early Saturday after he allegedly assaulted and choked a person in the 200 block of Memorial Avenue, Cumberland Police said.
Aaron Devone Manning, 47, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and possession of a controlled dangerous substance after police were called to a South End home at 2:05 a.m.
Police said the victim also was struck in the face.
At the time of his arrest, Manning was in possession of suspected fentanyl, police said.
He was being held Sunday without bond in the Allegany County Detention Center pending a bail hearing on Monday in district court.
